Lamare lands in the U.S.

Myriam Lamare arrived in Los Angeles, CA on Sunday, January 4, 2009. Lamare has crossed the Atlantic to take on undisputed pound-for-pound boxing queen Holly Holm on January 23rd at the beautiful Isleta Casino & Resort in Albuquerque, NM.

Holm has taken on all top challengers in 3 different weight divisions and has amassed 9 world titles. Holm has taken women’s boxing to another level almost single-handedly. After cleaning out top contenders in the U.S. in 3 different weight divisions, now she seeks any foreign fighter that is considered a top contender. Holm will defend her WIBA Welterweight Title when the two clash.

Lamare has only two losses to French top contender Anne Sophie Mathis who might very well be on the Holm list of opponents for 2009.

Lamare has hired former pound-for-pound boxing queen Lucia Rijker, to work her corner. Is there a Rijker –vs- Holm showdown in the works? Holm stated she is only focused on Lamare for now and will leave the possible future opponent to her team.
