Christian Bruffy-Holmes
Christian Bruffy Holmes is not the “typical” boxer. Christian
has always been active – he played soccer in college while
pursuing a bachelor’s degree in History. After graduating in
2006, he worked as a teacher for kindergarten through 4th grade
for two years. He started his boxing career a little late -
started at age 20 and had only 14 amateur fights before turning
pro December 4th, 2009.

Christian didn’t let his
first loss on his pro debut discourage him; since his single
loss he has been aggressively pursuing that boxing career and
he’s determined to display his fighting evolution from one year
and a day one year ago on December 3rd, 2010 on the Holm – vs -
Sacurrato card. Christian trains under the watchful eye of
Lorenzo Brown. Lorenzo is no stranger to boxing – he’s been
around boxing since he was 13 years old when he and Bobby Foster
went to the old Boys Club and started punching the bags; that
was 58 years ago.
Lorenzo had decided to retire
from boxing when Christian was brought to him; Lorenzo
definitely saw some potential in Christian. Therefore, Lorenzo
decided he would train Christian. Christian says that Lorenzo
has given him the boxing skills he needs but that it is up to
him to develop those skills. Being a young father keeps
Christian busy, but not too busy to keep him from working out
five days a week. Christian says he dedicates a lot of time to
boxing and it is a big part of his life.
