Clash in the Cage is full of the combative skills of New Mexico’s own MMA fighters. Friday, September 9th will be an outstanding fight night at the Legends Theater at the Route 66 Casino Hotel. Fresquez Productions and Route 66 Casino present:

Six-time World Champion Holly “The Preacher’s Daughter” Holm takes on Strikeforce veteran Jan“ Cuddles” Finney and Travis ‘T-Train” Marx prepares to mix it up with Mikey “Burque Bulldog” Lovato.

Holly “The Preacher’s Daughter” Holm (1-0 MMA) made her presence known to the MMA world on March 4th, 2011 with speed and strength in the cage. Christina Domke 4-2 (Wisconsin’s top female fighter) experienced her second career loss by way of TKO in the 2nd round due to Holm’s kicks and strikes. Holly hasn’t wasted any time, returning back to the gym and continues her vigorous training regimen. In June of this year, Holly Holm (30-1-3 boxing) returned to the boxing ring with another successful victory over Victoria Cisneros. On September 9th Holm returns to the MMA cage. Holly is scheduled for a “Clash in the Cage” against Jan “Cuddles” Finney.

Holly knows “Heavy is the head that wears the crown” as the 29-year-old southpaw heads straight back to the gym. On September 9th, 2011 Holly Holm will face a new challenger, Jan “Cuddles” Finney. Jan Finney brings cage experience as a professional mixed martial artist as well as a well-known reputation for taking on the toughest opponents in woman’s MMA. It is clear Holly Holm doesn’t take any opponent lightly, whether in the ring or the cage. Get ready to watch Holly Holm in action, her punches and kicks come FAST and HARD, Holly Holm is ready to fight.

Jan “Cuddles” Finney, Strikeforce Veteran

Jan “Cuddles” Finney (8-9) is from Springfield, Ohio. Finney brings to the “Clash in the Cage” card experience and is known for taking on the best of the best in the division. Finney is a well-established fighter in the MMA industry. She has 17 fights to her credit, has been fighting fighting for over 7 years, and is ranked 7th by International Sports Combat Federation female bantamweight

bantamw division. Jan Finney began her professional MMA career in November 2004 at the HOOKnSHOOT –

Evolution card, defeating Rikki Burnett by unanimous decision. Jan Finney has fought the elite in the female 135-145 lbs divisions. These battles include Shayna Baszler, Julie Kedzie, Miesha Tate, Erin Toughill, Adrienna Jenkins, Liz Carmouche, and Cristiane “Cyborg” Santos – the current Strikeforce Middleweight Champion.

Holly’s work & training ethic are unmatched. Will Finney’s experience prepare her for Holm’s power, speed, and technique?

Semi-Main Event

The semi-main event features Rio Rancho’s Travis “T-Train” Marx (17-3) and Mikey “Burque Bulldog” Lovato (10-2).

Travis excelled in sports, took a special interest in wrestling, and was the first in Union High School (Utah) history to become a 3-time state champion. In college, Travis placed 3rd in NJCAA tournament. He worked for Utah Highway Patrol in Salt Lake County as a Trooper from 2004-2010. While working full-time as a trooper, Travis discovered a love for MMA as he trained and fought under trainer and legendary fighter Jeremy Horn. In 2008, he was featured on the TV show “Tapout”. Travis decided to take his passion of competing in the cage to a new level in 2010. He moved to Albuquerque, NM to train full-time. Travis trains at Jackson-Winkeljohn’s MMA and Mean1 MMA & Fitness.

Mikey “Burque Bulldog” Lovato (10-2) will be stepping in the cage, to battle Travis “T-Train” Marx. Lovato has deep roots in Albuquerque. Lovato is also a 3-time state champion wrestler. Mikey wrestled for West Mesa High School and took state 1994-95-96. Mikey made his pro-debut in November 2007 where he defeated William Rossen at the Duke City Brawl by TKO in just 52 seconds of the first round. Since then, Lovato has trained at ABQ Kickboxing and currently trains with his uncle and wrestling Coach Lenny Lovato Sr. at Lovato Total Fitness. Both Marx and Lovato are well schooled on the mat and appreciate the stand-up game. On September 9th in the Legends Theatre at Route 66 Casino there surely will be a Clash in the Cage!

Belen’s Shaun Henson from (Rosales Karate and Kickboxing) will be making his pro-debut against Mean1 MMA & Fitness’s Andres Quintana (0-1) of Rio Rancho.
