Antonio Martinez
1-0-1, says, “It’s going to be a war” when he faces
Edgar Zubia 1-0-1 of Hobbs on December 2nd in a 4-round
bout. He says of his opponent, “I know he’s an
experienced and decorated amateur who comes to fight.
It’s going to be an action packed fight; I’m training
hard for this fight and I’m sure he is too. Come
December 2nd, I’ll be ready to bring it!” This could
shape up to be a classic matchup since Martinez and
Zubia have a common opponent, John Herrera of Roswell,

that if it wasn’t for Monica he wouldn’t be fighting
right now and that she has helped him to become the
fighter he is today. Martinez also trains under the
watchful eye of Al Lovato of Santa Fe. Martinez says Mr.
Lovato is a disciplinarian, motivational and supportive.
Martinez gained his first win on his pro-debut on the
undercard of Holly Holm’s December 3, 2010 fight.
Martinez works at a dialysis clinic as a CCHT. He enjoys
spending time with family and friends and describes
himself as a very loving, kind person, when he’s not in
