Born Frank
Leroy Archuleta, Frankie (23-4 13KO) is a native son of Las
Vegas, New Mexico. Frankie Archuleta has become New Mexico’s
best bet for a world champion. Some of Frankie’s greatest
accomplishments were the WBB Featherweight Title and the NABA
Super Bantamweight Title. Frankie has also competed against the
likes of Lewis wood (26-1), Kevin Kelly (54-6), the war he
fought with Emanuel Lucero (22-1),
Alejandro Barrera (16-0), and
rocky Juarez (20-0). Frankie has never taken the easy was out
and has faced the best of the best. The most recent and most
notable accomplishment was his victory over 5 time world
champion Johnny Tapia.
On March 5, 2004 Frankie proved
that he belongs with the top rated fighters of the world. The
scoring for the fight was 98-92, 96-94, 95-96 all in favor of
Frankie. That night Frankie not only shined for a sold out
capacity in his hometown he also shined on national television.
Frankie gained the hearts of his fans as well as the attention
of the nation when he handed Johnny Tapia another loss.
In his next, fight Frankie will be facing Oscar Larios 47-4-1
(34 KO). August 20, 2004 at the Highlands University gym Frankie
will be facing the WBC super bantamweight world Champion.
Although Larios has almost twice as many fights as Frankie does,
Frankie is confident that his ability will make him victorious,
especially when Frankie has his hometown and his fans behind him
Frankie has had very few minor set backs he is on his was to
becoming New Mexico’s future world champion.
He is now training under Ray Perez who also trains Marco Antonio
Barrera. For weeks at a time Frankie trained in the mountains of
Mexico City to prepare for Tapia. Since training with Perez
Frankie has not only sharpened his skills and technique he has
also found himself leaner and in the best condition of his
boxing career. Frankie is under the direction of Fresquez
Productions Inc, who has big plans for Frankie in the next
couple of months. Frankie now holds the future of New Mexico
boxing in his hands!
