HOLM LOOKS ON BEATING SECOND LEGEND IN BATTLE OF KNOCKOUTS

(DEC 6) This coming Thursday night Albuquerque, New Mexico's Holly Holm will step into the ring against Mia St. John, it will be Holm's second fight against on of the pioneers of women's boxing, this past September Holm shocked the boxing world by upsetting Christy Martin, in a an almost shutout unanimous decision. Many felt Holm was way in over her head, but her Promoter Lenny Fresquez felt it was time for Holm to step it up and advance her career.

In fighting St. John, Holm will have a fighter with a different style unlike the brawling Martin in front of her; St. John is most known for boxing more the getting in there in mixing it up. When fighting Martin, Holm's trainer Mike Winkerljohn devised a game plan by having Holm watch tapes on Muhammad Ali vs George Foreman, where she would see how the master would box a slugger, the plan worked and Holm hardly got touched by Martin. "I didn't have any tricks up my sleeve this time where I can't come up with something like that but we watched a lot of tapes on Mia and I think Holly will show all

her skills in this fight." says Winkeljohn "Holly can switch from brawling to boxing in an instant."

Since winning in September Holm has become a hot commodity in Albuquerque, her face on at least 10 billboards around the city, media interviewing her every chance they get, this week the fight was to be a day before Albuquerque's most popular fight Johnny Tapia, but as of Tuesday the Holm/St. John fight is 50 tickets away from a sellout where the Tapia fight is still uncertain to come off, she's that hot.

Holm looks for a different fight with St. John, "I expect her to box, I like to box too, but I will press the action when I have to." says Holm "I have been training hard and I'm ready to have a good fight."

If successful against St. John, Holm says beating her second huge name in women's boxing she hopes it will help her outside of boxing as well, like St. John did with her attractive looks. Holm is one piece of eye candy also, but don't look for Holm to be in a centerfold like her counter part did early in her career. "With all that goes on with boxing an things, the craziest question I always get is, When are you going to pose in Playboy?" say's Holm "I know I won't box forever, but people like Mia have helped women's boxing branch out into the business mainstream, so I hope I can do that too."

The fight which is at Isleta Casino has sold out quicker then any fight in recent history with Albuquerque being a notorious walk up crowd, there  seems to be a buzz about this fight, Fresquez Productions has seen something in Holm that he has not seen in any other fighters, men or women. "Holly has progressed faster then anyone I have ever worked with, including the men, she has came to a level in such a short time that it has been a pleasure working with her and we look for bigger things for her in the future."

Holm vs St. John will headline the card that will also feature the vacant NABA 115 title fight between El Paso's Caesar Lopez and Gabriel Elizondo of Texas, in what should be a war.
