IBA World
Champion Holly Holm
DESTROYS IFBA Champion Mia St. John!
(DEC 9, 2005) With her second
straight victory over top level competition, Holly Holm is the
best of her weight class with just 15 fights. After annihilating
former World Champion Christy Martin earlier in the year, Holly
destroyed IFBA World Champion Mia St. John by unanimous
decision, who had also gone the distance with Martin. Showing no
comparison of the two records combined with Martin and St. John
88-10-4 (48KO’s) vs Holly’s 12-1-2 (4KO’s) record.
Holly has set
herself up to be the force in the Jr. Welter and Welterweight to
be dealt with. “We offered Martin a rematch”, says Holm’s
promoter Lenny Fresquez, “but never heard back from her camp. We
offered cross town rival Stephanie Jaramillo the fight, but she
said she wanted $100,000 which is a nice way of saying no. We
look forward to finding the appropriate opponent for Holly,
because frankly these last two fights have been too easy”,
stated Fresquez. For more Holly Holm go to

Holm is off on a
hard earned vacation and we’ll see what lies in the future for
her next bout. This makes the second fight in a row that Holm,
New Mexico’s biggest draw, has sold out the Isleta Casino and
Resort venue. We would like to get in the Sweepstakes Contest to
take on Laila Ali but are in no hurry to step in weight that
fast. For the future, we would like to make that the ultimate
goal. The two best women in boxing should fight each other and
we are willing to put on this great fight, even though there is
a four weight class differential.
