MARTINEZ STEPS IN FOR HOLEWYNE

On Saturday, June 10th, 2006, at the Isleta Casino & Resort, Isleta, NM, Junior Welterweight Womens IBA World Champion Holly Holm, 13-1-2 (5 KOs), Albuquerque, NM moves up a weight class to face late sub Angela Martinez, 4-1-1 (1 KO),  Dallas, TX, for a third time.  Martinez will step in for Lisa Holewyne, 25-18-2 (8 KOs), who was originally slated to face Holm but left back to Austin, TX, after a press conference
on Tuesday due to a family emergency. Holewyne told
promoters that she would be returning the following day but promoters have been unable to get in touch with her.

Holly and Angel are no strangers to each other their first bout was a close match that saw Holly get the nod. In their first rematch the bout was even closer and resulted in a draw.  In a recent interview on www.fresquezproductions.com Holm was asked who was her toughest opponent and she replied "Angel Martinez from a long time ago, she gave me a good fight because it was active, but that was also before I got better at my skills so its hard to say." The bout will still be for the Women's WBA Championship of the World.

The under card will feature the return of Junior Welterweight "Hurricane" Hector Munoz, 14-1( 8 KOs), Albuquerque, NM, who will square off against Fransisco Rios Gil, 5-3 (4 KOs), of Phoenix, AZ, in an 8 round Welterweight affair.

In March Munoz defeated Welterweight prospect Omar Davila, 15-5 (6 KOs), with an 8 round split decision at La Villita in San Antonio, TX . The bout was a good win for Munoz who has been on a 7 fight winning streak since his first defeat.

The always entertaining Jose "Goose" Ramirez, 10-9 (6 KOs), Albuquerque, NM, makes his return to the ring after a 2 year layoff to face Derek Andrews, 5-2 (1 KO), Lewisville, TX,  in a 6 round Light Heavyweight bout.

Dale McCartey, 3-3 (1 KO), Albuquerque, NM, fresh off of a
3rd round knockout over Jacob Romero, faces Albuquerque prospect Julio Chavez,  5-1 (2 KOs), in a 6 round rematch. Their
first bout was a war that saw Chavez come out with a
unanimous decision.

Amateur sensation Sarah Perches,  Albuquerque, NM makes
her professional debut against Lisa Whittle,  0-1 Denver, CO,  in a four round bantamweight bout.
