Final
Tribute: Mike Hall

Long-time Journal reporter Mike Hall was put to rest today in a
beautiful celebration. After hearing Mike Jr. talk about his
dad, I realized there was a side of Mike I never knew - the
playing poker part, anyway. And now I know why Mike always
pressed to be the first one to talk to Holly after the fight -
so he could skip the press conference and go spend time with his
family.
After being diagnosed with cancer I would ask Mike how he was
doing and he never complained about what he was going through.
The celebration today made me think I may have accomplished a
lot, but I come up short in comparison to this man in how he
handled himself and his family. He showed respect to everyone,
and he stayed away from the boxing politics. He never wanted to
hear that end of it he just wanted to hear about the fights.
We will miss Mike at ringside and we thank his family for
letting us spend time with their husband, father, grandfather
and friend.
