Release - May 19, 2007
In what promises to be an action-packed night of boxing, this
Wednesday semi-main event at Tingley Coliseum will be featuring
Albuquerque’s Former WBC Youth Champion David Martinez 17-2-2
(3KO’s). Martinez’s last fight was against Santa Fe’s Brian
Garcia on February 23, 2007. Martinez, was originally scheduled
for an 8-round fight against Paulino Villalobos, but Leon Bobo
pulled out due to injury. Martinez jumped at the chance to take
on the former World Champion Clarence (Bones) Adams 42-6-4(19
KO’s) who defeated former Albuquerquean and NABA Champion Andres
Fernandez in August of 2000. Set for some high profile exposure
in a nationally televised card and a chance to break in the top
20 with a win over Adams.
Martinez is hungry
and in great shape and ready for this great challenge and
opportunity.
